Summary

The Senior Relationship Manager is a key contributor to the success of the Corporate & Commercial Finance division. This role is responsible for managing a portfolio of high-value corporate clients, acquiring new strategic relationships, driving revenue growth, and ensuring prudent risk management. The incumbent will act as a trusted advisor to clients, offering customized financial solutions while aligning with FH’s strategic objectives and regulatory standards.

Major Responsibilities

Client Relationship Management

  • Manage and grow a designated portfolio of corporate and commercial clients.
  • Build long-term, trusted relationships through proactive engagement and advisory support.
  • Conduct regular client meetings to understand evolving business needs and offer tailored financial solutions.
  • Drive client satisfaction and retention by providing best-in-class service and guidance.

Business Development & Revenue Generation

  • Achieve business targets including revenue, portfolio growth, and profitability as assigned by the Head of Department.
  • Proactively identify and convert new business opportunities within targeted industries or sectors.
  • Cross-sell a broad range of products including lending, deposits, trade finance, retail products, and insurance solutions.
  • Maximize wallet share and deepen client relationships through strategic sales initiatives.

Credit & Risk Management

  • Conduct thorough credit assessments and financial analysis for new and existing clients.
  • Prepare and recommend credit proposals in compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor portfolio performance and identify early warning signals to mitigate risk exposure.
  • Ensure timely completion of credit reviews and adherence to quality benchmarks.

Internal Collaboration & Leadership

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Credit, Risk, Treasury, Legal, and Operations to ensure seamless client onboarding and service delivery.
  • Lead discussions on deal structuring, pricing, and credit solutions in coordination with product and credit support teams.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior relationship managers or support staff where applicable.
  • Ensure clarity and communication of service standards and client requirements to internal teams.

Market Intelligence & Strategic Engagement

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market conditions, industry trends, and regulatory developments.
  • Share client and market insights with leadership to support informed strategic decision-making.
  • Represent Finance House at key industry events, conferences, and client gatherings to enhance visibility and networking opportunities.
  • Keep clients informed on changes in FH offerings, market conditions, and compliance requirements.

Skills and Competencies

Technical Proficiency

  • Strong knowledge of corporate banking products, loan structuring, and financial instruments.
  • Expertise in credit analysis, documentation, and regulatory frameworks (KYC, FATCA, AECB).
  • Solid understanding of banking laws and compliance standards.

Qualifications & Experience

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Banking, or a related field.
  • A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA, CA, or similar) is an advantage.

Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience in the financial services industry.
  • At least 6 years in banking, including 3 years specifically in corporate or commercial lending and client relationship management.
